True Love Misplaced - Visitor's Love Poem
by Brian Cox
(Dallas, TX, USA)
I woke up today wishing I hadn’t, Wishing if only I could sleep for another two hours, Then it would be two hours that I wouldn’t feel, The hurt, The pain deep in me, The pain of losing thee, I wish for rain, With every drop that hits me, I feel your touch, I feel your lips, I feel your love, I feel as if we are talking, As if we are holding each other again, But it doesn’t rain, I don’t feel your touch, I don’t feel your lips, I don’t feel your love, I feel alone, Sad, Sad because I lost you, Sad because my heart says you will never return, Sad because my heart cannot let you go, Sad because I am still in love with you, Sad because my heart says never give up, Even my heart is torn, Torn between what it wants, And what it is being given.
