True Love Misplaced - Visitor's Love Poem

by Brian Cox
(Dallas, TX, USA)

I woke up today wishing I hadn’t,
Wishing if only I could sleep for another two hours,
Then it would be two hours that I wouldn’t feel,
The hurt,
The pain deep in me,
The pain of losing thee,
I wish for rain,
With every drop that hits me,
I feel your touch,
I feel your lips,
I feel your love,
I feel as if we are talking,
As if we are holding each other again,
But it doesn’t rain,
I don’t feel your touch,
I don’t feel your lips,
I don’t feel your love,
I feel alone,
Sad,
Sad because I lost you,
Sad because my heart says you will never return,
Sad because my heart cannot let you go,
Sad because I am still in love with you,
Sad because my heart says never give up,
Even my heart is torn,
Torn between what it wants,
And what it is being given.

Simply words from heart
by: Fion

Hi Brian, thanks for expressing your deep emotions through this poem using simple words! A lost love can be so hard to get over especially when it's someone you believe you're still in love with. These are feelings many of us would have felt at some point in our lives.
