This Morning - Visitor's Love Poem

by Michael L Stirling

You woke me this morning with a whisper in my ear,
I felt your warm breath and body so near.

You woke me up with a gentle touch of your hand,
my body shivered and trembled like only you know it can.

You woke me up, snuggled close and held me so tight,
with a smile I was remembering the love we made last night.

You woke me so gently with a warm soft kiss,
I was wondering what I did to deserve all of this.

You woke me this morning with a simple "Hey you",
I felt so alive, knowing this feeling I have is true.

You woke me this morning and looked into my eyes,
I saw the dawn break, sunshine and blue skies.

I awoke this morning and let out a scream,
realizing it had all been nothing but a dream.

I lay there and cried, my heart aching for you,
feeling so sad and lonely and oh so blue.

I drifted off to sleep, tears wet on my face,
I found you again, smiling at me in our private place.

You woke me this morning with a smile on your face.
