Just Five Minutes - Visitor's Love Poem

by Charlie E Southern "ChazPacific"

His life would change just that night,

out of mind, out of sight,

the door drew open, he slipped out,

conscious he was, but still a doubt.

Just five minutes till his life would change.

For the better his life would change he hoped,

not quite knowing if he could cope,

would it be yes, would it be no,

Is it too soon? He just doesn't know.

With his body of a ghostly feel,

not quite knowing if this is real,

he made his way up to the door,

just like he did many times before.

Just four minutes till his life would change.

Up the steps and through the hedge,

passing the flowers on the window ledge,

there he arrived at the door,

just like he did many times before.

Just three minutes till his life would change.

His hands drew near the doorbell buzzer,

he pressed it once, and then another,

now he waits at the door,

just like he did many times before.

Just two minutes till his life would change.

He heard a hand turning the knob,

who could it be? It was his love,

hello was said, with a grin,

it's nice to see you, won't you come in?

One soft kiss as he entered the door,

just like he did many times before.

Just one minute till his life would change.

Once inside his sweet loves chamber,

he knelt on one knee, he will always remember,

those next words his heart stood for,

something he's never said before.

Oh sweet darling can you see,

I Love You so, will you marry me?

A pause, a smile, it came to be,

yes was said, I will always be,

your sweet love, endlessly.

For now they stood there by the door,

in Love, they two, like never before.

For now he knows his life has changed.
